The CJCA would like to congratulate the winners of the Girls Jubilee Batting and Bowling Cups for the 2019 calendar year and Festivals & Tournaments in early 2020.
These awards are presented to the girls that scored the most runs and took the most wickets during the Summer and Spring Tournaments of 2019 and the South Island Primary Schools Invitational Tournament.
The Bowling Award went to OBC’s Lexie Rouse. Lexie took 10 wickets at an average of 13.5 in the 10 games she played in the qualifying period – as well as being a member of the winning CJCA team at the South Island Tournament she also was in the Heaton Intermediate team which won the New Zealand Cricket Primary Schools Shield at Lincoln in November 2019.
She also took 10 wickets at that event at a staggering average of just 3.5.
Just in behind Lexie in terms of wickets taken were Addison Stackhouse (Halswell) and Scarlett Amos (Lancaster Park) who both took 9 wickets.
Addison Stackhouse from the Halswell Cricket Club is the Batting winner, Addison scored 254 runs in 9 innings at an average of 84 in the qualifying games just 9 ahead of the next girl.
There were a number of other excellent batting performances from those in behind Addison with Lucy Easton from Old Boys Collegians Cricket Club scoring 245 runs in 10 innings at an average of over 61 to be 2nd on the table.
