Winter Training Information
The CJCA Winter Training Programme is aiming to commence in Term 3 of 2020.
IT IS HOPED THAT REGISTRATIONS WILL OPEN IN JUNE VIA THIS WEBSITE.
As in recent years each Squad will have 6 sessions of 90 minute duration.
The programme aims to work on appropriate skills for each Year group with the aim of having two Paid coaches per group of approximately 12. Volunteer coaches will be able to assist the paid coaches during sessions so paid coaches can work on any technical corrections that are required.
Feedback from volunteer coaching in recent years is that they have benefited from observing the paid coaches and are able to take back drills or techniques into their club/school settings.
Costs will be approximately $150 for the 6 sessions.
It is envisaged that the Girls programme will once again take place in the School holidays in October
Various times are offered and each squad is made up of 12 players so that we are able to get a good ratio of coaches to players in each group.
The venues we will be using are currently being progressed.
Below were the programmes offered in 2019.
The overall objective is to provide players with a ‘pre-season’ training opportunity to work on their batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping skills. Players are provided with feedback through each session giving them direction on additional work they can do to improve aspects of their game.
For club coaches, and parents, this is also an opportunity to participate as well. Learn more about the game, and how you can advance your own coaching. Each session is planned in advance and circulated to coaches before the session.
The coaching structure is;
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach(s)
- Volunteer Coach(s) ideally two
At best this gives us a 1-to-3 ratio of the participants and a minimum of 1-to-6. Sessions are 90 minutes in length and participants are expected to arrive in appropriate training gear ready to start on time.
REGISTRATIONS SHOULD OPEN IN JUNE
