The CJCA would like to congratulate the winners of the Boys Jubilee Batting and Bowling Cups for the 2019 calendar year and Festivals & Tournaments in early 2020.
These awards are presented to the boys that scored the most runs and took the most wickets during the Summer and Spring Tournaments of 2019 and the South Island Primary Schools Tournament and Year 8 Mandeville Tournament of January 2020.
BATTING
Flynn Holdem in action at the Summer Tournament at Burnside Park
Flynn Holdem from Old Boys Collegians is the Batting winner, Flynn scored 486 runs in 12 innings at an average of 60 in the qualifying games 91 ahead of the next boy. In the season just completed Flynn led all run scorers in Christchurch Cricket with over 1200 runs during the 2019/20 season.
There were a number of other excellent batting performances from those in behind Flynn with Jack O’Rourke from Sumner Cricket Club scoring 395 runs in 9 innings at an average of over 56 to be 2nd on the table.
BOWLING

The Bowling Award went to Halswell’s Jack Johnston. Jack took 17 wickets including 9 at the South Island Primary Tournament in Westport – where, despite playing on artificial wickets, his medium pacers were still able to claim 9 wickets at 6.89. Jack also played a vital part in a partnership with his captain for the 7th wicket (8 wickets is all out) during the semi final against Otago Country in which he and Tom Turner put on 63 runs in 11 overs to secure the win that put them into the final that they won against Nelson to retain the Sir Jack Newman Cup for Christchurch.
Runner-up was Year 7 Boy Harry Flatman from Medbury School took 16 wickets with his left arm medium pacers.
