NEW YEAR 7 FESTIVAL

Today sees the New Year 7 Festival get underway at Mandeville.  The CJCA are represented by 4 teams who were in Year 6 in 2023 these boys will be playing on 18m pitches for the first time for most and on the grass wickets at this awesome sports complex.

CHRISTCHURCH GIRLS FESTIVAL

Wednesday sees the start of play in the Christchurch Girls Festival – as well as 3 CJCA teams the city will also be represented by a team from Halswell.  Canterbury Country (2), Marlborough and Cornwall round out the 8 teams that will play two 20/20 games on Wednesday and Thursday and one game on Friday.

Last week over 200 boys from around the top of the South Island start festivals tommorrow at Burnside Park, Mandeville and the Swannanoa Domain.

For Year 8 boys this will be their last Junior Festival before they head off to Youth Cricket in the New Year. At Burnside teams from Mid Canterbury, South Canterbury, Marlborough, Canterbury Country (2) and Christchurch (3) do battle from 2.30pm with a 20/20 and then two rounds of 20/20 on Tuesday preceding longer format games on Wednesday and Thursday.

At Mandeville & Swannanoa 12 teams from Christchurch (4) Canterbury Country (4), Buller (2) West Coast and Marlbrorough start at 12 noon tommorrow with two 20/20’s each day for the first 2 days before Longer Format game son Wednesday and Thursday.
