The CJCA is pleased to announce its confirmed teams for the Canterbury Festivals to be held in Christchurch and Mandeville (North Canterbury) between the 8th and 11th of January and also the New Year 7 Festival 15th-17th January 2024 (Year 6 2023 players).
These 11 teams and 111 players will join other teams across the two events which feature a blend of 20/20 and 40 over cricket played mainly on grass wickets – the 12 teams in the Mandeveille based event exceeds that venues capacity so the artificial pitch at the nearby Swannanoa Domain will be the 6th pitch used.
Joining the CJCA in these Festivals are teams from Canterbury Country, Mid Canterbury, South Canterbury, Marlborough, West Coast and Buller.
The CJCA will have 3 teams in the Festival to be held at Burnside Park and 4 in the Mandeville based event. A feature of our Mandeville teams is the coach of our Year 8 Astle team. Bert Medhurst from Merivale Papanui is an overseas player who is looking forward to assiting this team have a great time in the event.
