If you’re looking to further your coaching resume have you considered becoming involved during the CJCA pre-season programme in August/September this year and other opportunities this season.

The CJCA would like to hear from you now – we are seeking to have qualified coaches to deliver its highly regarded Pre-season programme for Year 6, 7 and 8 Boys on Saturday afternoons (2-7pm) and Sunday Mornings (9am-2pm). We are seeking two coaches per squad of 12 boys (4 coaches at any one time) and sessions are 90 minutes. Coaches could do between 1 to 3 squads each day with a 30 minute break between the 2nd and 3rd squads each day meaning a 5 hour block is potentially available.

The CJCA are ideally seeking highly skilled and proactive coaches and at least an Advanced Foundation Coach for each squad and will negotiate a payrate based on the coaches qualification. Youth coaches who may have been involved in CJCA activities in the past may well be suitable as an Assistant Coach alongside a Lead Coach.

The Programme will take place at either the Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre beside Hagley Oval or the Sporting Edge Indoor Centre on Matipo Street.

These squads are with young athletes keen to get a pre-season programme to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for the cricket season through a planned six week programme.

GIRLS COACHING OPPORTUNITIES

The CJCA are also seeking expressions of interest in being involved in our Girls Pre-season Programme which will take place during the school holidays prior to the start of the season – once again different ages will have specific programmes which Junior and Intermediate Girls having separate squads on 3 consecutive days. The Girls programme may well attract female athletes from outside the Christchurch catchment.

We also wish to continue to appoint Youth coaches to assist our teams in the South Island Primary Girls Festival 18-20 January 2023 which the CJCA will once again host – as well as being involved in pre-event training sessions these coaches would actively assist the girls to have a fun experience at the premier Girls Cricket event in the South Island. In 2022 12 teams (including 3 from the CJCA) participated in the Festival.
