2026-27 Girls Cricket Opportunities

Girls can register FROM THE 1ST OF AUGUST to be involved in CJCA co-ordinated teams for the 2026/27 season.

Please note that Girls who play for teams from outside the Christchurch Metropolitan catchment may play for Canterbury Country Cricket teams.  Players who reside in the Country but play in Town may opt to play for either. 

Girls may register for INTERDISTRICTS GAMES which are planned to take place on the 22nd & 29th of November versus other Districts within Canterbury.  Should it be necessary these may include games between CJCA teams given we normally have 4 playing in January and may not be able to find enough teams from Districts to play against.  The aim of these games is to start to build a picture of our Girls abilities so we can select EVEN teams to participate in the January Festival.

Registration for Interdistricts games will close on the 6th of November with teams announced the following week

Players may register at the same time to be considered for inclusion in Teams for the 2027 Christchurch Invitational Festival to be held between the 11th & 13th of January 2027 in Christchurch.

WHO SHOULD REGISTER

Girls in School Year 6, 7 and 8 who are intend to play Division 3 (Hardball) or higher in CJCA or Christchurch Metro Competitions.  Girls playing in Hardball Mixed teams may also register.

Priority will be given to Year 7 and 8 players and Year 6 players must be aware that the level of Cricket at this Festival and preceding games will include Girls playing at higher levels of the sport.

Registration for JANUARY FESTIVAL TEAMS will close on the 20th of November with teams announced the following the conclusion of the Interdistricts games on the 22nd and 29th of November
