Christchurch Red scored a record 233 for 2 off 31 overs and went on to win the tournament - having been 31 tournament matches in a row unbeaten. This team scored 889 runs at 32.9 and took 70 wickets @ 8.8 rpw. Otago Gold was the 14 team. It was New Zealand's Cricket Centenary and badges were given to players and officials.
