Canterbury Cricket Under 14 Tournament

This tournament is a Canterbury Cricket Tournament and not a Christchurch Junior Cricket Association Tournament.

This January, last January...

 The three teams competing are:

  • Southern Districts (Selected from Mid Canty & Sth Canty)
  • Metro (selected from Christchurch Red & Black)
  • Canterbury Regions (selected from Canty Country, West Coast, Buller & ChCh Red & Black)

Matches - 50 over games, international rules, 10.30 am starts

  • 22nd.: Metro v Canterbury Regions at Elmwood Park
  • 22nd.: Canterbury Regions v Southern Districts at Southbridge
  • 23rd.: Metro v Southern Districts at Ashbuton
  • coaching days will occur for teams on their "bye" day

    Team practices:

    Lists of the three teams above, as selected by the selectors above at the SIPT, to be forwarded to team coaches by Monday Jan 14th. at the latest by Andrew Reid. Coaches to contact players and arrange a practice at their discretion in the week of Jan 14-18.
     
    Balls:
    2 piece 142gm Kookaburra balls to be provided by the CCA. Richard Hayward to provide balls for all tournament matches to Metro and Canterbury Regions coaches at the first game at Ilam on Jan 21st.
     
    Scoresheets:
    Host teams to provide scoresheets for their appropriate games. Scoresheets to be copied and forwarded to Richard Hayward at completion of games.
     
    Format:
    50 over games, international rules. If it is not practical to mark grounds with 30 metre circles then umpires to adjudicate.
     
    Umpires:
    Umpires to be arranged by hosting associations. Payment $50/day. Umpires to claim expenses via timesheets direct to the CCA.
     
    Scorers:
    Each team to provide own scorer (12th. man/parent)
     
    Lunch:
    Players/umpires to provide own lunch.
     
    Billeting:
    Canterbury Country to billet West Coast/Buller players on nights of 20th. and 21st.
     
    Caps:
    Each player to be presented with a cap by Andrew Reid at the naming of the teams at the conclusion of the SIPT. Caps will be embroidered as follows:
    • ‘Christchurch Metro U14 2007-8’
    • ‘Canterbury Regions U14 2007-8’
    • ‘Southern Districts U14 2007-8’
     Grounds:
    Ground hire charge (max $100/day) to be paid by CCA if applicable. Invoices to be sent to the CCA.
     Player Levies:
    All players (36) to be levied $67.50 including GST discounted to $60.75 including GST if paid before the tournament starts. This levy includes the day’s coaching on the rest day which has been added this year plus a cap.
     Refreshments:
    CCA to provide 2 large sachets of Powerade for each game. Richard Hayward to arrange delivery to each venue.
