CJCA ObjectivesTo promote, develop, manage and control junior cricket and control junior cricket and representative matches for children up to and including school Year 8 level. Undertake and carry out such other purposes in respect of cricket for children up to and including school Year 8 level under the control of the Canterbury Cricket Association as may be assigned by that Association. Grade Objectives:Each grade will provide players a fun, fair & learning game with a connection to International cricket as close as the age group, player abilities & time allow. Tournament Objectives:The objective of Regional Tournament is to have the best 48 players from Christchurch in each school year selected and play in four even teams. Additionally (and also for Representative Matches), we seek to provide all selected players with opportunities to further develop their skills in higher levels of cricket. While the player mix will likely be adjusted to the team's winning strategy for each game, strategies deployed for the team's scheduled games will strive to have all players develop at least the skills they were selected for. CJCA Goals:
Actions:In support of the above Aims and Goals, the CJCA has embarked on a program to install 40 artificial pitches in the greater Christchurch area. We've observed that no Primary or Intermediate schools in our area have been able to provide a quality grass pitch for the pupils to practice and play on. Perhaps the most essential of all ingredients to the improvement of batting and bowling skills is to have a fair and even playing surface to play on. |
